Asin is already in the bad books of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) that has formed a joint consultative committee to decide on the action to be taken against actors visiting Sri Lanka. The actress recently visited Lanka to shoot for a Bollywood film ‘Ready’ opposite Salman Khan.

Along with SIFAA, yet another organization has taken up the issue against Asin. The Federation of Tamil Associations of North America (FeTNA), an umbrella body of more than 30 Tamil organisations across the United States, has decided to boycott films starring the actress on the same grounds.

FeTNA chief Palani Sundaram made it clear in a recent statement, “The Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America will boycott films of Asin because of her visit to Sri Lanka despite a ban by the Tamil film industry.”

But the actress is unperturbed. Asin claims that she did not flout any diktat of the Nadigar Sangam as she stayed away from the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) award ceremony in Sri Lanka. But Asin sticks to her ground that she was in Colombo strictly for professional reasons.

Asin also reveals that she has spoken to SIFAA president Sarath Kumar and is ready to abide by the joint committee’s direction. Now only time will tell what fate the committee decides for Asin.

Those around 20-something Asin (don’t you dare look disbelievingly, she is that young) have been making noises about her being the most eligible down South.

Perhaps that’s why she found a friend in Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni as well. Anyway some poll (the veracity of the numerous polls can never be established because God alone knows who the sample segment is) said gorgeous Asin was the most in-demand girl down South.

Among the male stars, Prithviraj topped the poll alongside Asin. In the survey, 54 per cent males and 49 per cent females have voted for Asin and Prithviraj. The poll also saw names of 20 of the biggest stars down South including Shriya Saran, Genelia and Trisha.

Mumbai: King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan is not only a reel life hero but also a real life hero. At an event in Mumbai, he saved Ghajini actress Asin when she and her spokesperson got surrounded by over 300 people who tried to shake her hand and touch her.

At a function, a makeshift cubicle was made near the backstage where the stars were asked to wait before they came on the stage.

As Asin was about to enter the cubicle, 300 people surrounded her. Reportedly, the crowd got too close to her as they tried to shake her hand and touch her.

Immediately, Shah Rukh – who was to go on stage next – intervened and ordered his bodyguards to go through the crowd and reach Asin. The buzz is that Shah Rukh with his six bodyguards, who are trained in crowd management, reached Asin and pulled her and her spokesperson out of the crowd.

Sources close to Asin confirmed the incident, saying it was a “scary experience for the actress”. After the incident, Shah Rukh and Asin had a long chat about her security.

The superstar is believed to have advised her on her security and told her to keep bodyguards while going out for such public appearances.

Bollywood actress and Ghajini fame acterss Asin has now graced the cover of FHM magazine’s latest edition.

The actress, who was in news for rejecting Ashutosh Gowarikar’s offer for his next movie Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se, is really looking good on the cover.

Though, the actress is just two movie old in Bollywood but started showing attitude in the tinsel town.

After Ghajini her last release was London Dreams with Salman and Ajay Devgn, which couldn’t do much in the Box Office.

She seems to become very cautious and choosy after the debacle of her much expected London Dreams.

Ghajini girl Asin recently shot the new Big Bazaar TV Commercial with Indian cricket team’s captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni at a studio in Filmcity, Goregaon, Mumbai. Asin had been signed up as Big Bazaar brand ambassador just few months back, but had only done a print ad campaign with them since then. This is her first TV ad shoot for the brand.

It is learnt that this recent ad shoot between Asin and Dhoni took an entire day to shoot and saw many clothes changes for both of them.

In fact, during the breaks both Asin and Dhoni even indulged in playing games. Dhoni seems to be fast gaining popularity amongst brands as just recently another ad featuring Bollywood hottie Bipasha Basu was seen on TV for an international shoe brand.

This new Big Bazaar ad shall be seen on TV from mid-August. Dhoni, presently is on a break since no cricket is happening till the tri series in Sri Lanka in September. Asin is meanwhile, shooting for London Dreams starring Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan and her Indo-Japanese venture.

Recently, gorgeous actress Asin was stalked by an unidentified man when she visited the beautiful country to attend an award function. The stalker has been following the actress ever-since she landed in Singapore and traced every movement of hers.

The man got so courageous with his moves that he tried to get closer to Asin, when she was in her hotel lobby. But thankfully, the hotel security guards instantly got into action and caught hold of the stalker, relieving Asin from any danger.

The stalker was then whisked away from the charming actress. These kind of unfortunate incidences are common with the celebrities, and their fans should understand what kind of mental trouble they cause to the stars by making such moves.

Asin won the Best Debut Female Award for her role in Ghajini at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) 2009 awards at Macau. Thousands of specatators and fans had gathered to get a glimpse their favourite stars, and Asin walked the red carpet leading to the event auditorium.

Asin, the queen who stole many hearts, shot to fame all over India with Ghajini in Hindi opposite Aamir Khan. She is also remembered for her great performance in Dasavathaaram opposite Kamal Haasan.

The IIFA Award ceremony is one of the biggest celebrations of Indian cinema, and this year was no different! Asin started off with Tamil cinema, and is today on the front cover of every top magazine.

Police on Friday solved the mystery of a missing 22-year-old who had worked as actor Asin’s assistant. Acting on a tip-off, a police sub-inspector and a constable, disguised as junior character artistes, maintained a surveillance at a film producer’s office in KK Nagar. The assistant was nabbed there and handed over to his mother.

“We formed special teams to nab Muthukumaraswamy. Teams in Mumbai tracked his movements. While questioning him, he admitted that Asin had no role in the episode. He had gone underground after the police launched a hunt for him,” superintendent of police (Tiruvallur) M C Sarangan told TOI.

“We collected his bank account and mobile phone numbers from his friends in Mumbai. We began monitoring his movements by tracking his mobile phone number. He had withdrawn money from an ATM in Tirupati, Shirdi, Delhi, Rishikesh and Kolkata. During the past week, his location was identified as Chennai,” deputy superintendent of police (Ponneri) M Rangarajan said.

Sampath Kumar, who co-produced Ghajini, informed the police on Thursday that Muthukumaraswamy had contacted him for a job. “Immediately, we sent sub-inspector Kumar and constable Thirumurugan in the guise of character artistes. I was sitting inside a car parked outside and watched his movements. On Friday morning, Muthukumaraswamy came to the office and was caught,” Rangarajan explained.

On March 17, Sudalaivadivu, Muthukumaraswamy’s mother had approached the suburban police commissionerate seeking their help in tracing their son. In her complaint she said that her son had gone with Asin to Mumbai for a film shoot. Muthukumaraswamy had worked as Asin’s assistant for four years. Sudalaivadivu contacted the Ghajini star but there apperently was no proper response’ from Asin.

Sudalaivadivu also produced a copy of the statement Asin’s father Joseph Thottumkal had given to the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai stating that Muthukumaraswamy had quit the job on January 21, 2009. “He wanted to come with us to Mumbai. He had problems with the language and voluntarily resigned in January. We have all the settlement vouchers,” Thottumkal had said.

Police said that if Asin lodged a complaint against Muthukumaraswamy for extortion or cheating, they would book a separate case against him.
